Today's Story on SOLVING PROBLEMS: If you are a generous person, people will be generous back. If you are a mean person, or a scrooge, then it will be you who grumbles about every other individual not being too helpful. So it appears to make sense that whenever possible 'sew your seeds of goodness' then they will eventually arrive back in your lap. Give out happiness; you'll get happiness flooding back. I'll give you two quick examples of negative thoughts and positive. Thoughts related to what mood and feeling you outwardly express. Walk through a supermarket all grumpy and sad, and I would gamble you meet nobody you know and you'll not remember picking anything up. Walk through with a smile on your face and you'll meet all your neighbours, your long lost cousin, your aunt Connie and your old school pal. Be happy and your life will improve. Here is today's story... GOOD THINGS About a year ago, a couple with three children moved into the apartment next door to me. I never hear any noise from the children, but the parents were always yelling at the kids, not in a constructive tone, but more on the threatening side. When I am in my bathroom it is quite loud. We met often in the hallway when we were coming or going. I always spoke, but the only answer I ever got was a hello from the four-year old girl. I usually go out for breakfast and one day when I returned they were just coming from their apartment and the little girl was holding the door open for the others. I remained in the car doing unnecessary things because I wasn't too eager to be snubbed. The parents were telling her to hurry and get in the car (they were parked next to me). I looked up and saw the little girl was still holding the door open, waiting for me. I am handicapped to the point that I can't hurry at anything, but I hurried as much as I could and thanked her. She was smiling from ear to ear. That afternoon I was at the K-Mart and I saw a white teddy bear. I thought of the little girl and said to myself, "I bet she would like that" so I bought it. I forgot to tell you how much I was touched by her act of kindness. I wrote a note saying how much her act of kindness had touched a soft spot in an old man's heart and I didn't even know her name. The next day there was a knock on the door and it was the little girl and her father. She was so proud of her bear and thanked me like I had never been thanked before. Then I noticed her mother and the other children were there in the hall too. The mother and father both thanked me. Now when we meet in the hall we all speak, and in a friendly manner I might add. As time passes, I don't hear that yelling as often, in fact, hardly at all. Last night we had about 4 inches of snow. I looked out at my car and wondered how I was going to keep my doctor's appointment because I can only exert myself just so long and then rest for a while. I didn't have that much time. The temperature was zero, so I bundled up and went out to remove the snow. When I opened the outside door, there was my car with all the snow removed. I can't express how I felt at that moment. The man next door was the only person I knew in the whole building, so when I saw him the next day, I asked him if he was the good guy that removed my snow. He said NO. He wanted to but his wife said she wanted to do it. Isn't it amazing how the small kind act of a 4-year-old girl can change so many things for the better? My guardian angel says that more good things come from small acts. (Russ Grover - 84 years old). QUOTE: 'Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.' (Jim Rohn, American Business Philosopher).

TELEVISION REVIEW; ?Bones of Turkana,? a PBS Profile of Richard Leakey

16 May 2012 at 12:00am  Maybe it’s unintentional, but “Bones of Turkana,” a look at the life and work of Richard Leakey, feels a bit defensive, as if Creationists had just made viewers a sales pitch. “Don’t listen to them,” it seems to say. “Evolution is still the way to go and is every bit as beautiful as the biblical...

Girls and Boys..This is a real tough one!!?
it"s longish but stay with it..... This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line. THE SITUATION: You are in London There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photo-journalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing into the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury. THE TEST: Suddenly, you see a man in the water. He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer... Somehow, the man looks familiar... You suddenly realise who it is............................................................. ...................It's Muslim Cleric Abu Hamza (the hook handed bastard) You notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever. You have two options: You can save the life of Abu or you can shoot a dramatic Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the country's most despised, evil and powerful men! THE QUESTION: Here's the question, and please give an honest answer... Would you select high contrast colour film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white? ***************

Why do so many want to believe that Eternal Torment is Biblical and just punishment from a merciful god?
Why is it that I see so many readily accept something so perverse and contrary to God's nature? How can anyone believe that ETERNAL suffering be just? Imagine the worst you felt, times it by 100, then feel that for ALL eternity. That is awful. Personally, I think a just and merciful God would simply destroy you and forget you ever existed; non-existence forever as opposed to existence of torture forever. When I research the Bible, I have seen no evidence for such a torment, only eisegesis of scripture. I just don't understand why this doctrine of demons is so widely accepted so readily in exchange of what the Bible actually teaches. It just makes me sad :( @Christopher: No, no I really haven't. God is merciful, not a God who rubs his hands together laughing as his creation is suffering. I have seen every argument and I'm afraid you have missed the mark in understanding God's character or what the Bible teaches :( @Anthony D: That verse isn't saying what you think it's saying. Everlasting punishment to one who reads eternal suffering into it will think it supports the idea of eternal suffering. Everlasting punishment can simply mean total annihilation; just as the second death is eternal as well as a punishment. Throughout the Bible, it describes what God destroys to be completely annihilated such as Sodom and Gomorrah. Revelation itself says that death and hades will go into hellfire which is SECOND DEATH. To know what second death is you first have to define what the first death is. @Christopher: "I know what the Bible teaches. But truth is not contained just in the Bible. God is light. God is love. God is everything." Interesting that you would say that since anything that goes against scripture is not truth since all scripture is God breathed. And if God is light, love, and everything, then a loving God wouldn't allow the suffering of those that rebel against him forever. I'm unsure why you insist on that interpretation. @Christopher: I'm sorry Christopher but I don't believe anything not supported by God's word. I looked into NDE personally and it seems interesting but I don't feel their are any truth to it. I believe that we are souls and when we die we are dead. Only God can bring back that dead one, even using the stones in the area if he wanted to (like what John the Baptist said). Only God can give us a body that lives forever. Having a spirit body isn't something that I agree with because I think it's not scripturally sound.

How do I tell my dad i'm not going to church anymore?
I don't believe in god/gods and he is religious. There is no evidence to back biblical stories. So i don't see the point in going to church. Science can tell you about the universe.
