Today's Story on THE LOVE OF WISDOM: If it is true that actions speak louder than words, how often do you say to someone you love them? What can speak louder than that? If I ever was to make a defence in court, in defence of the power of words as opposed to action, I would use today's story to illustrate the power of saying, 'I love you.' Days can fly by, weeks, months and years can also pass quickly. We must not forget to say to those important to you that you LOVE them. As we know this appreciating those close to you is important, we must recognise in ourselves, especially men, the impulse when a loving thought occurs. Women have an inbuilt mechanism that recognises this easier than men; but this impulse must be acted upon with words. If you are sat at the breakfast table and your child begins to clear the table of the plates and cups, you must show your appreciation. Make recognising this impulse become part of your personal philosophy, it will help to improve your attitude. WHO I AM MAKES A DIFFERENCE A teacher decided to honour each of her seniors in high school by telling them the difference they each made. She called each student to the front of the class, one at a time. First she told each of them how they had made a difference to her and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon imprinted with gold letters, which read, "Who I Am Makes a Difference." Afterwards the teacher decided to do a class project to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a community. She gave each of the students three more ribbons and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honoured whom and report back to the class in about a week. One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company and honoured him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like you to go out, find somebody to honour, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell me what happened." Later that day the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon and would he give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, "Well, sure." The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket above his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he asked, "Would you do me a favour? Would you take this extra ribbon and pass it on by honouring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people." That night the boss came home to his 14-year-old son and sat him down. He said, "The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. Imagine. He thinks I'm a creative genius. Then he put this blue ribbon that says "Who I Am Makes a Difference, " on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honour. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honour with this ribbon and I thought about you. I want to honour you. My days are really hectic and when I come home I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school and for your bedroom being a mess, but somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid and I love you!" The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn't stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom explaining why I had killed myself and asking you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just didn't think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs. I don't think I need it after all." His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain. The envelope was addressed, "Mom and Dad." The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch, but made sure to let all his employees know that they made a difference. The junior executive helped several other young people with career planning and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life... one being the boss's son. And the young boy and his classmates learned a valuable lesson. WHO YOU ARE DOES MAKE DIFFERENCE. (Author Unknown) QUOTE: "Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power working twenty four hours a day, for good or bad. It is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.' (Tom Blandi)

Is this conversation in my book OK?
I have just written this conversation (and a bit of other writing) and wanted to know if it is a good conversation. I sometimes have trouble with conversations about when to put punctuation and how to lay it out so I wanted to know what some of you think. Can you also please give me constructive criticism.
We locked up the apartment and made our way down to my Ford. The Bentley hotel was in the east, at the opposite end of New York to us so it would be a -------- drive.
?You know you will have to kill the person operating the crane, right?? Frankie asked in a laid back voice
The car suddenly swerved as I jumped at his question.
?Mr Green never said that.? I replied pretending to be equally laid back.
?That?s because he assumed you would know. I can?t spell these things out for you every time we do a job.?
I brushed of his comment ?Can?t I just hold him hostage until you have taken care of Raymond??
?No, that?s not how it works.?
?Well how does it work then?? I questioned with a raised voice.
Frankie faltered. ?You wouldn?t understand.?
?I?m not a kid, just tell me!?
?Calm down. Did you take your medication this morning??
?Yes!? I lied but Frankie saw straight through me.
?You didn?t did you? Let me drive.?
?No I?m fine.?
?Bradley, you know it?s dangerous to drive if you don?t take your medication.?
I pulled the car onto the side of the road and braked harshly. For a minute we sat there silently and just stared at the road.
?Thank you.? Frankie said as he reached for the door.
?Wait.? Frankie stopped and turned towards me. ?I never said I would let you drive. Just trust me, I can drive fine.?
Frankie sighed but eventually agreed.
I was a completely different person without my medication. I was easily aggravated and like Frankie said a danger to others. I remembered one day when I was nine years old I was at school. I was sitting on a bench, on my own, when a group of boys came over to me and began to push me about. They told me that I was worthless and began to hit me. Back then my anger was ten time worse so I got up and hit the oldest one in the face. He was two years older than me but I didn?t care. I broke his arm and knocked three of his teeth out. The other two boys were already half way across the playground by the time I was done.

What book would you advise LLB students studying Constitutional Law, to use for both their essay and exam?
I am a current LLB student and Constitutional Law itself is a very hard subject to get my head around. I have read the Constitutional and Administrative Law by Bradley and Ewing, the book didn't help me as much as I would have liked it to have.
I would appreciate comments from Law Professors, LLB graduates and any current undergraduates who are studying or have already studied this module.
Many thanks in advance to all of you who have commented.
