Common Sense Is
Today's Story on LOVE: In love you always give and don't demand in return. By giving, you allow things to happen. When people love someone, they forget that real love means no demands from the beloved. When dedicating yourself to a God, the Self, the Absolute, the Saviour - call it what you will, the most important part is the heart, and that is very simple. If that is properly achieved in its simplicity, all the rest should not bother one, because nothing else is very important. One can see this from many examples that this is so, but here is one: IT WAS ASKED FROM THE HEART 'There was a great elephant who was proud of his size and strength, but when he went for a bathe he was caught by a crocodile in mid-stream and dragged out of his depth into the deep water. He was helpless and couldn't do anything. But; just when he was about to be drowned he happened to catch with his trunk a lotus flower floating on the river, and offering that flower to the Absolute, to his God, he begged Him to save his life. So pure was his offering that God came running from his throne. One might wonder how one could dislodge the Absolute, the God and cause him to come barefoot from his throne by just a little flower! But it was not the flower, it was the spirit behind the flower - it was the heart which prayed.' (Excerpt from the book 'Good Company.') QUOTE: "Don't spend your precious time asking, 'Why isn't this world a better place?' It will only be time wasted. The question to ask is, 'How can I make it better?' To that there is an answer.' (Leo F Buscaglia, Author in 'The Way of the Bull').

Common Cold or start of Flu?
With this whole swine flu outbreak and being a natural worrier, I am worried that I am coming down with the nasty flu. I haven't got a fever as my temperature is 36.8, and I don't have a sore throat or body aches, but I do have a blocked nose which has gradually come on and gotten worse over the past few days, and I am sneezing.
Common sense is telling me it is just the common cold but being a natural worrier I guess I just want some reassurance :(

When will the morons stop?
Now, I have been a member of this 'community' for about three days and I have noticed that there appears to be a vast number of idiots asking inane* questions.
Has common sense been driven so far from these peoples minds that they can no longer form a coherent sentence so therefore spew another load of vacuous cr@p?
I am generally referring to questions like "How many muslims are terrorists? I think 85%" or the classic "How do I know he likes me? NEED HELP PLS!!!" Both actual questions I have seen, so if there is anyone else out there who would know when this will stop please let me know.

A well meaning JW gave me the following advice.?
"Please take a time of silence and pray to Jehovah in the name of Jesus and ask for truth. Just be quiet and still. Exercise logic and common sense.
Is this how it works with regard to Jehovahs Witnesses? - I find this interesting, as another JW along the same lines has said that, for example, the trinity cannot be true cos it is 'illogical'.
I struggle to find anything about God though that IS logical! He is the God of the impossible, the one whose ways and thoughts are higher than ours, the One who has no beginning or end! If we look to our minds nothing about Him makes sense, but with our hearts, it ALL makes sense.
Clearly being a JW is more of a 'mind religion' than a 'heart relationship'?
Hmmm, I'm not Mavis - not sure why you think I'm Mavis?

Who is at fault in a car accident when you're hit by a car approaching from a side road who fails to give way?
My husband was driving our car down a main road this morning when a car came out of a side road crashing into the passenger rear wheel arch of our car. They exchanged insurance details but the other driver is trying to contest blame saying my hubby was driving too fast (this guy hit the back not the front of the passenger side)- my hubby is a really careful driver especially in the current conditions- unfortunately all the insurance companies are closed til 28th December but I'm panicking now as to where we stand, the car isnt driveable as we dont know what structual damage has been caused. I'm adament we're not paying any excess as the other driver is at fault
common sense is telling me he is 100% at fault as he failed to give way coming from a minor road but the fact he's trying to lay fault with hubby is making me anxious that insurers will go 50/50
Extra info: My husband was on a main road- the guy that hit him failed to give way at the end of a minor road turning onto the main road
