Today's Story on SOLVING PROBLEMS: Part of the battle in life is to control our attitude, if we take the aspects of both Self-Esteem and Motivation we find that both are more readily improved by working amongst a team. Poor self-esteem when shared amongst a team of friends will be eliminated and made brighter and stronger from all of the support within the team. Motivation works on a similar thread; when you are part of a team your determination is doubled, when you may have given in working the job solo, the group enthusiasm encourages your dogged effort to continue. Once you have experienced the benefits of being part of a team you will find an urge to do so more often. This could become an answer for people who struggle with projects whereupon their pride prevents them from asking for help and the job takes five times as long. Your energy is sapped; if only you could encourage a few friends and work as a team on the same project. I have heard recently of a 'Decorating Party'. The idea is based around a desperate need to re-decorate a house for the arrival of a new born. A deadline was looming, so a team of friends were invited around to decorate with a glorious meal and an abundance of wine to conclude the session. Today's story is about the beauty of working as a team and how more efficient the task can be if shared amongst the other members. DO AS THE GEESE DO! In the fall when you see geese heading south for the winter flying along in the "V" formation, you might be interested in knowing what science has discovered about why they fly that way. It has been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. People who are part of a team and share a common direction get where they are going quicker and easier because they are travelling on the trust of one another and lift each other up along the way. Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go through it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the power of the flock. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation and share information with those who are headed the same way that we are going. When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose takes over. It pays to share leadership and take turns doing hard jobs. The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep their speed. Words of support and inspiration help energize those on the front line, helping them to keep pace in spite of the day-to-day pressures and fatigue. It is important that our honking be encouraging. Otherwise it's just - well honking! Finally, when a goose gets sick or is wounded by a gunshot and falls out, two geese fall out of the formation and follow the injured one down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead and then they launch out with another formation to catch up with their group. When one of us is down, it's up to the others to stand by us in our time of trouble. If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other when things get rough. We will stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. The next time you see a formation of geese, remember.... IT IS A REWARD, A CHALLENGE AND A PRIVILEGE to be a contributing member of a TEAM. (Namrata V. If you burn 500 calories can you then eat 500 calories afterwards?
If I exercise off 500 calories, am I able to then devour 500 calories worth of food without repercussions? :P
Or is there something I'm missing, like how the body processes food or something.
Any insight would be much appreciated!

Blood in stools slowly getting worse.?
So this is a really gross question. But I'm getting worried so I will ask other people. I do have a flexible sigmoidoscopy next week, I'm not just relying on the Internet.
For the past year or so I have had on and off blood in my stools. I thought it was just internal piles or something and I was too embarrassed to go to my doctor, Until this last few months it has been much more regular. I have had dark AND light coloured blood (but never black tarry type) It has always been a dark maroon red type & sometimes a lighter red. It has been on the outside of the stools & also mixed in where the stool looks almost a dark red/brown. I have had hardly any pain, none when going to the loo. Only lately have I had fairly awful stomach cramps.
I never thought it would be anything other than internal hemorrhoids I am only 27. Sometimes slightly constipated. very very rare for me to have loose stools again until this last month. I started going every day whereas I used to go maybe 2-3 times per week. But never had to strain. I have had 2 occasions in this last month where there was loose stool at the end of a movement, and blood clots (dark red), which prompted me to see my GP where, she said she could only feel one little bump inside. Then she referred me for this camera malarkey next week.
So a few questions to anyone who has experienced this...
1. Does it sound like piles, maybe further up?
2. Could it be chronns or IBD
3. Is it worse when blood is mixed with the stool in general?
4. How bad will the sigmoidoscopy hurt?
5. Do biopsies etc hurt?
We don't get sedated in the UK for these.
Any info, insight, views etc. I am really worried about the sigmoidoscopy there are allot of conflicting stories about them. Sorry for the length of the question!
Thanks :)
Thank you, Yes from what I have read, the likelihood of piles seems slim, although I am sure there could be. I am really worried about the pain from the sigmoidoscopy. But what needs to be done shall be done I guess.
I think, if it was something terrible, I would be in constant pain and have constant diarrhoea wouldn't I?
Thanks for taking the time to answer :)

Is it acceptable to choose not to have kids if you are a woman?
I'm a man, I'm in my late 30's and have decided for lots of reasons (mainly financial, emotional immaturity, selfishness) that I do not want to reproduce and have an even needier version of me running around the planet with its arms outstretched demanding to be taken seriously).
But a lot of my female friends who are also in their late 30's agree with me in not wanting kids. But society - and mainly other women with kids, seem to judge them all the time, presuming they must be infertile or in denial because they haven't got a boyfriend.
Do you think it's natural for a woman to not REALLY want to have kids?
Any insights?
Thanks.
