Today's Story on LOVE: In love you always give and don't demand in return. By giving, you allow things to happen. When people love someone, they forget that real love means no demands from the beloved. When dedicating yourself to a God, the Self, the Absolute, the Saviour - call it what you will, the most important part is the heart, and that is very simple. If that is properly achieved in its simplicity, all the rest should not bother one, because nothing else is very important. One can see this from many examples that this is so, but here is one: IT WAS ASKED FROM THE HEART 'There was a great elephant who was proud of his size and strength, but when he went for a bathe he was caught by a crocodile in mid-stream and dragged out of his depth into the deep water. He was helpless and couldn't do anything. But; just when he was about to be drowned he happened to catch with his trunk a lotus flower floating on the river, and offering that flower to the Absolute, to his God, he begged Him to save his life. So pure was his offering that God came running from his throne. One might wonder how one could dislodge the Absolute, the God and cause him to come barefoot from his throne by just a little flower! But it was not the flower, it was the spirit behind the flower - it was the heart which prayed.' (Excerpt from the book 'Good Company.') QUOTE: "Don't spend your precious time asking, 'Why isn't this world a better place?' It will only be time wasted. The question to ask is, 'How can I make it better?' To that there is an answer.' (Leo F Buscaglia, Author in 'The Way of the Bull').

What has the most potential for intelligence and why - AI, Genetic Engineering, or a hybrid of both?
The hybrid: Im assuming one day machine and biology will work together in synergy each enhancing one another to the point that the biology and technology will be so blurred at such a microscopic level that it will become one.

I want to work for MI5 Counter Terrorism/Espionage......?
Hello, I am 19 years old (nearly 20) and my absolute dream is to work for MI5 as an intelligence officer in counter terrorism or counter espionage.. I realise I am too young to be employed by MI5 but I would like to take steps now to ensure I have the best experience/qualifications to give me a better chance at one day becoming an intelligence officer. What courses/degrees are the best ones to do? Are there courses that are just based on counter terrorism/espionage and intelligence? Or if not a course what jobs could I get now that will help me along my journey? Any advice will be greatly appreciated, Thanks :)

What school should i send my daughter to?
So i have 3 daughters (age 22, 17 and 11) My first daughter (Chantelle) went to a normal comprehensive school ( we live in an okay area and the school had an average number of kids entitled to free school meals etc...) on her GCSE's she got 4 C's 2 B's and 3 A's. my second daugter (Louise) went to private school (her dads choice) she got 2 B's 4 A's and 5 A*'s. Allthough her results were better all of her friends were posh and i never saw her having a laugh as much as Chantelle. Chantelle went to partys and had boyfriends where as Louise went 'round for tea' and never spoke about boys. Chantelle went to 'play out' but louise allways went round to 'play in the house'. I feel as though i robbed louise of her childhood. but then on the other hand Chantelle was a lot more gobby and used worse language then Louise. I know she also drank more and had sexual activity alot sooner. (Not major young like 12, more like 15) this makes me think maybe she wasted her life abit and makes me feel guilty for turning her into abit of a yob, even thugh she is not in comparison to most other kids... But then i think that is what your teenage years are about. chantelle now finds it alot easier to socialise but then louise dosent get into arguments/fights so honestly i dont know which route of growing up has turned out better. The problem is i dont know where to send my third child (Becka) She has the same intelligence of both of my other girls when they were in year 6 and i dont know whether qualifications and no fun is better or Have a laugh and maybe have less. please tell me your opinions state or private xx

Is a lack of intelligence the consequence of idleness, laziness, and stupidity?
Do none intelligent people only have themselves to blame? The idleness and laziness of not reading books and educating themselves on the topics that they're interested in. The stupidity of filling their time with recreational, none educational activities such as always looking for fun and not taking anything serious. I personally believe we are all born with pretty much the same ability to learn, the same template or canvas to acquire knowledge and wisdom. Of course, there will always be exceptions to this rule but generally speaking, the average person, without any defects, I believe is born with the same abilities and the same potential. What's your thoughts on this? ====================== The reason I ask this question is because I'm amazed by the growing number of people who don't read books or want to learn something new. Instead, they will either live in front of a television set or play video games all day. These people tend to think learning is something we only do at school. A lot of excellent points, but I was mostly referring to learning and improving intelligence throughout our lives, not just as kids. Adults can learn just as much as any child on a daily basis if they apply themselves but most people give up on educating themselves the moment they leave school. Of course, kids are better equipped to learn because they're brains are so much more mould-able than an adult but adults can still learn too. The more intelligent someone becomes the easier it gets to learn even more - overall awareness improves and knowledge can be gained from even the most obscure place.
