Today's Story on THE LOVE OF WISDOM: Within a life you're trying to improve, you need to have events that give you an impulse to do the right thing; you need to create a trigger that reminds you not to go down the wrong path. Wisdom is nothing more than a reminder to do the right thing. If you find a need to justify your actions, then here if we chose to search is an element of incorrect decision making. When you make a decision and you know its right, there is a sense of oneness. No one person will need an explanation of why you did it this way, it will be obvious. If you study wisdom and philosophy then you should be the prime case in point of 'Leading By Example'. However, we cannot deny that there is a road to travel before we can expect this to happen. It is here, at the beginning of the road that we need to instigate reminders to continue to guide us. Triggers that will make us think we're not using our knowledge of wisdom to its fullest. Today's story has one of those triggers set in place. Albeit that the trigger is not correcting a faltering path, but reminding that a witness is approving your benevolence. THE VALUE OF A PENNY This one will make you think... Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband was invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the water-way, and cars costing more than her house. The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely. As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up? Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some valuable. A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this? "Look at it." He said. "Read what it says." She read the words "United States of America." "No, not that; read further." "One cent?" "No, keep reading." "In God we Trust?" "Yes!" "And?" "And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him! Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust is in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me, lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!" When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the word, "In God We Trust, " and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful... And God is patient... Obama falls to Earth as just a politician

17 May 2012 at 3:41am  Conventional wisdom has it that President Barack Obama's campaign four years ago was a political masterpiece. Yes, the Republican brand was in the toilet; the economy had cratered; his real opponent, George Bush, was a political pariah; and the country despaired for a new direction. Still, we recall the Obama campaign as a crushing force, brilliantly harnessed, riding the tide of history.

Could the 'Paranormal' just be another 'un-tapped branch' of Physics ?
Humans don't know everything about everything right ? and we're still evolving AND learning new things about the planet we live on, the environment, its species etc right ? This implies that Science is perhaps, still in its infancy if you look at it from another angle. One of the most intriguing subject matters is what I'm v.quickly going to discuss below. I'm going to discuss the paranormal phenomena that is, 'spirits, orbs and ghosts'. From a Scientist's p.o.v, all this is nonsense and has a 'logical explanation' behind it all. However there, and have been, exceptions to the case. History is littered with 'accounts' from the past, suggesting that was always more to just 'science' and that sometimes, just sometimes there was an event or incident which would turn the entire laws of physics upside down on its head. Defying everything that we call 'logic'. There is narrow minded science and open minded science. The latter of which strives to innovate and expand its knowledge base to open up new doors etc. Just wtf am I getting at ? Bare with me. If it becomes possible through science, to enable entities of the mortal realm aka 'planet earth' to the 'logical minded individual & Athiest' to somehow, start 'seeing' entities such as 'ghosts, orbs and spirits' more often, would this be a farce and end up having a 'rational explanation' behind it all, consequently ruling out the whole 'ghosts, spirits and orbs' thing ? If as some open minded phsysicians claim, that these ghosts, spirits and orbs are merely 'loose energy' of some sort, moving around - then essentialy that is all it is ? I'm getting really confused now. Answer the question and/or add anything else related to this question you feel is relevant. eri, energy is not made or lost - it is simply transferred from one form to another heh. hence, when we die - perhaps our inner energy w/e it might be, moves on ? so please - sit down and bring yourself back down to earth madam. you don't know everything about anything lol. :-)

Does religion maintain it's comparative stronghold......?
.....largely because it's still forced upon us by a significant number in society ? If we didn't teach it in schools, churches didn't exist and God loving parents didn't try to brainwash their offspring, but everyone was left alone to form their own opinions wouldn't religion die out in a few generations ? Surely any child in modern society left to their own devices with the knowledge base available today would, in most cases (not all) regard belief in a God as a fairy tale myth belonging in the age of cavemen. In my opinion religion only remains because people are 'caught' in their formative years and have it force fed to such a degree they blindly accept it without thinking the whole idea through. Leave people alone and religion will die out naturally in a few generations.

Why won`t Windows XP, SP2 upgrade to SP3?
I have just rebooted my computer. It is Windows XP, SP2 and the last time I installed it, I was able to upgrade it to SP3. This time however, when I try to upgrade to SP3, a box appears saying "Service Pack 2 Set Up Error" and just below it says "The Core System File (Kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows File. The Service Pack will not be installed. For more information, see Knowledge Base article Q327101 at http://support.microsoft.com" I have been to the support site and cannot find anything. Can anyone help, as to why I am unable to install SP3? Thanks to all who reply to this question.

Why can`t I upgrade to Windows XP SP3?
I am running Windows XP SP2. About a year ago, I upgraded to SP3 which worked great. However, about a month ago I had to do a complete reboot, and SP2 was re-installed. When I tried to upgrade again to SP3, a box appeared saying "Service Pack 3 Setup Error" it then said "The core system file (kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file. The service pack will not be installed. For more information, see Knowledge Base article:Q327101at:http://support.microsoft.com. I have been to this website, and still cannot work it out. How can it be that, the core system file (kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file? It obviously WAS a Microsoft Windows file at the beginning, otherwise it would not have worked. What could have happened? SP2 is so outdated, there are many programs I cannot even run anymore, which once I could. I am at my wits end. Do I need to buy a new Windows Installation disc or is there something that can be done?. Thanks to all who reply to this question.
