Today's Story on SOLVING PROBLEMS: Today's story is interesting to say the least. I have researched the story to find out its truth, but realised there is more wisdom in the story without knowing its truth; let me explain. Firstly there is a claim for its truth, but the story appeared at my offices without a known author. It is the CLAIM that we need to be aware of. When people claim I always remember this quote: 'Those who claim they know know nothing. Those who claim nothing know.' (Socrates) So the claim in this story is a claim to be concerned with; don't misunderstand it as the truth and a guide. Secondly, when we have dreams and desires in our life we need to be cautious on how we pursue them. When our desires take over we instantly get tunnel vision. All our normal reactions and emotions are left behind, clearly evident in today's story. Before I wrote this issue; a Saturday morning, I needed to take a short trip to my office to pick up some important mail. I left the house with the car keys and set off to work. A half a mile down the road I realised I had left the house without the office keys. I swiftly turned around a returned home for the keys. The lesson? I had too much desire to pick the mail up from my office, everything else had been forgotten. I am almost certain this happens to everyone in varying degrees DREAM TO FLY Larry Walters is among the relatively few who have actually turned their dreams into reality. His story is true, even though you may find it hard to believe. Larry was a truck driver, but his lifelong dream was to fly. When he graduated from high school, he joined the Air Force in hopes of becoming a pilot. Unfortunately, poor eyesight disqualified him. So, when he finally left the service, he had to satisfy himself with watching others fly the fighter jets that criss-crossed the skies over his backyard. As he sat there in his lawn chair, he dreamed about the magic of flying. Then one day, Larry Walters got an idea. He went down to the local Army-Navy surplus store and bought a tank of helium and forty-five weather balloons. These were not your brightly coloured party balloons; these were heave-duty spheres measuring more than four feet across when fully inflated. Back in his yard, Larry used straps to attach the balloons to his lawn chair, the kind you might have in your own back yard. He anchored the chair to the bumper of his jeep and inflated the balloons with helium. Then he packed some sandwiches and drinks and loaded a BB gun, figuring he could pop a few of those balloons when it was time to return to earth. His preparations complete, Larry Walters sat in his chair and cut the anchoring cord. His plan was to lazily float up a ways, and then lazily back down to terra firma. But, things didn't quite work out that way. When Larry cut the cord, he didn't float lazily up - he shot up as if fired from a cannon! Nor did he go up a couple hundred feet. He climbed and climbed, until he finally levelled off at eleven THOUSAND feet! At that height, he could hardly risk deflating any of the balloons, lest he unbalance the load and really experience flying! So, he stayed up there, sailing around for fourteen hours, totally at a loss as to how to get down. Eventually, Larry drifted into the approach corridor for Los Angeles International Airport. A Pan Am pilot radioed the tower about passing a guy in a lawn chair at eleven thousand feet... with a gun in his lap. (Now there's a conversation I would have liked to have heard!) LAX is right on the ocean, and you may know that at nightfall, the winds on the coast begin to change. So, as dusk fell, Larry began drifting out to sea. At that point, the Navy dispatched a helicopter to rescue him. But, the rescue team had a hard time getting to him, because the draft from their propeller kept pushing his home-made contraption farther and farther away. Eventually they were able to hover over him and drop a rescue line with which they gradually hauled him back to earth. As soon as Larry hit the ground, he was arrested. But as he was being led away in handcuffs, a television reporter called out to ask, "Mr. Walters, why did you do it?" Larry stopped, eyed the man for a moment and replied nonchalantly, "A man can't just sit around." Girlfriend maybe cheating with ex & ready to split, need help to not feel like this anymore?
We agreed to give each other space at the weekend. She called today, told me she misses me loads and says she was worrying lots because my phone was off.
Half way through the call she had to quickly go because she had a call. I have her ex's number as she cheated before with him so I saved his number to be sure it didnt happen again, so I called on private number & he was engaged. She called back she said it was her friend i could tell she was lying.
So now I am confused if I find out we are splitting on the 26th & it's because of him it's making me think I should record the sex & send it to him & have done with the girl. As I confessed to her that I took an overdose when my last GF did that & split for her ex. I just find it damn right evil & I am 100% I will send him the video as there's no way I am hurting myself again, she can be left hurting for this, it's sad but that's the only thing getting me through at the min if it means saving my life.
On the other hand she may not split & they could of just been talking or not talking at all. This is what I am hoping for.
I know one thing is for certain & that is to sort myself out so I never feel like this or act like this.
THe thing is , I have tried so many self help books & also tried to get councilling starteed but couldn't due to work abroad & there's a waiting list. I was also kicked out of my mums 1 month after my overdose with ex when I was doing a lot of self help which also scarred me as I thought I was vulnerable then my own mum kicked me out .
I just keep trying and trying but nothing seems to work. The message I get from a lot of self help is to aim for something i am passionate about and work hard at it . (law of attraction & other books)
I know I will never be truelly happy until I can have a successful career in the music industry , I've djed abroad for 5 years which I loved & makes me very attractive to the ladys but now the money is not so good and I am 24 living at my nans. I really need to sort my career out, but in music there's nothing that I have found that will pretty much guarantee me a job even after qualifications and it's hard to start working in music & earning good money at the same time as you are building up.
So i thought I'd do a PT course for £3000 as this is my second but not so strong passion. I've found that there's not really great money in this as well.
SO basically I am at a point in my life where i am just so damn confused and insecure I just don't know where to go as nothing is certain, my nan has mentioned if I have a stable job that I want to stick at she will put a £50000 deposit down but she's not fully oked it with my grandad but I think she has talked about it, this is about the only thing that gives me hope.
Please, I beg you for some advice on how to get my life straight & stable & also the situation with my girl I feel alot of the reason we are breaking up is because of the LDR & also that I don't really have a career set in stone to provide for her which she does as she's an accountant earning quite good money. I am just in a low pay data entry job that anyone can do.
Believe me I am so determined & I will work at anything as long I can see for a fact it can all be alright in the end and there's a career for sure, I just need some certainty, security& focus in my life right now.
PLease help, I'm a guy in desperate need at the moment...
To sum up:
1 I need advice gettin my life on track
2. I need some advice on the girl

This is very detailed and long but I am writing this directly how I feel. It's all to do with girls and the whole confusion of them and never knowing where I stand, leading to inconsistent confidence and contentedness. I know girls aren't everything but they do matter a lot to me and can define how I feel about things, I guess I'm just one of those guys that gets caught up about girls. I'm a 19 year old male in his first year of college. I have enjoyed college so far but I have struggled with the whole girl issue and it really has got in the way of me enjoying college at times. I want to just live my life from now on instead of letting it pass me by, so here is how it is....
Overall I'm an ok looking guy with good potential. I'm really tall and well built with cool hair. However, I am pasty/shallow/light skinned and this stops me from being a stand out babe. I don't have the desireable dark skin/dark hair/well defined eyebrows and features look that girls crave on and which instantly attracts girls. Therefore I find it hard to attract girls in such if you get me? I would perhaps give myself a 7 out of 10 looks wise but I don't have the charming looks which girls do crave on, but then again due to my height and good built, I do have potential. Already we can see a pattern developing here.... The awkward middle.
The awkward middle is where I stand. Its kind of something I made up, but its for boys like me who are genuinely decent looking and not ugly, but don't have the ability to just instantly attract girls either. It's really annoying because I never know where I stand with girls.... and I often fall into the backup, 2nd choice, or friend zone position. Nearly always in fact. For an example, this girl I know from college. I went into my college class and just played it cool completely, I was pure laid back etc and didn't act awkward or intentionally throw myself in the friend zone. However, she immediately took me as a friend and saw me as a friend. I'm friends with her since, despite never making myself too available or acting as a friend towards her. I like her as more than a friend but she just seems to want to see me as a friend. She thinks I'm cool and perhaps she thinks I'm good looking as well (she often mentions her hot friends to me, seeing if I think they're hot too etc) but for some reason she just wants to be my friend more than anything. I find myself in this position with a lot of girls, despite not being too nice or throwing myself in the friend zone. I always land there though and it's really annoying.
Another example is another girl I know from college. She was all over me at start of year on nights out, and then one of the nights I took her hand and we went for a walk. She referred to me as a stud supposedly also, according to the same girl I was talking about above. Anyways, that night when I had her hand she met another guy along the way (who had the dark hair/dark skin look). I sat down with her about to kiss and she left me and went off with him instead. There we go again, an example of being 2nd choice when there is a better option around.
My class had a night our recently, There were 5 boys and 7 girls there. I admit that I am better looking than one of the guys there, but the 4 other boys were being flirted with ahead of me. I know I have a good personality, I'm friendly, nice (but not too nice), slightly handsome and charming, and considered cool. No way are their personalities that much better than mine.... Yet I believe because they have the more charming looks, the natural laws of attraction mean that they will always win out in situations like that.
All my friends are somewhat better looking than me which means that girls will always go for them first and flirt with them first. I'm still a virgin as well and I dislike it big time, especially when all my friends are regularly meeting woman and having sexual relationships with them, hearing their stories leaves me disheartened. It seems that I am somewhat good looking but that girls just never will see me as first choice. This leaves me very inconsistent.
I can be charming, I can be confident, and yes, I have got really good looking girls before. But it's so inconsistent and it seems that I'm always 2nd choice, friend zone, backup guy.
I don't want to be a virgin anymore, I don't want to be in the awkard middle anymore, I don't want to be in the friend zone anymore. But I don't know what I'm doing wrong.... as I said I'm nice but not too nice, available but not too available, charming but not too charming, confident but not too confident, I also have a mysterious side to me, AND YES, I AM GOING FOR THE RIGHT GIRLS...... What can I do.... or Is it just the natural laws of attraction meaning that other guys will get there ahead of me?
