Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
OSCAR WILDE
The best way to make children good is to make them happy.
OSCAR WILDE
Long engagements give people the opportunity of finding out each other's character
before marriage, which is never advisable.
OSCAR WILDE
Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship,
love, but no friendship.
OSCAR WILDE
A man can be happy with any woman, as long as he does not love her.

OSCAR WILDE
Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in
a thousand different ways.
OSCAR WILDE
It is better to be beautiful than to be good, but it is better to be good than to be ugly.

OSCAR WILDE
The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.

OSCAR WILDE
Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing
that is worth knowing can be taught.
OSCAR WILDE
Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast.
OSCAR WILDE
The past is of no importance. The present is of no importance. It is with the future that
we have to deal. For the past is what man should not have been. The present is what man
ought not to be. The future is what artists are.

# Miracles happen every day. Not just in remote country villages or at holy sites halfway
across the globe, but here, in our own lives.
Deepak Chopra
# Tune into the presence of miracles, and in an instant, life can be transformed into a
dazzling experience, more wondrous and exciting than we could even imagine.
Deepak Chopra
# When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you
connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities.
Deepak Chopra
# Even when you think you have your life all mapped out, things happen that shape your
destiny in ways you might never have imagined.
Deepak Chopra
# If you and I are having a single thought of violence or hatred against anyone in the
world at this moment, we are contributing to the wounding of the world.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence, we
are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal
dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and
the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very
important to be aware of them every time they come up.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# The secret of attraction is to love yourself. Attractive people judge neither themselves
nor others. They are open to gestures of love. They think about love, and express their
love in every action. They know that love is not a mere sentiment, but the ultimate truth
at the heart of the universe.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# Every person is a God in embryo. Its only desire is to be born.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you
connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities.
Deepak Chopra Quote
# The less you open your heart to others, the more your heart suffers.
Deepak Chopra Quote

There is a science that deals with manifesting desires. Many
people regard it as mystical or esoteric, but it's actually a
science like physics or algebra.

There are certain immutable laws that govern the process of

laws are complied with, anyone can make their dreams a reality
-- with absolute certainty.

I have Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius, the younger Pliny, Epictetus (probably), Marcus Aurelius, Apuleius(probably), Lucian and Galen. Are there any others, and, if so, what do they say?

Why did none of the contemporary writers of his time even mention Jesus?
Apollonius Persius Appian Petronius Arrian Phaedrus Aulus Gellius Philo-Judaeus Columella Phlegon Damis Pliny the Elder Dio Chrysostom Pliny the Younger Dion Pruseus Plutarch Epictetus Pompon Mela Favorinus Ptolemy Florus Lucius Quintilian Hermogones Quintius Curtius Josephus Seneca Justus of Tiberius Silius Italicus Juvenal Statius Lucanus Suetonius Lucian Tacitus Lysias Theon of Smyran Martial Valerius Flaccus Paterculus Valerius Maximus Pausanias Nor do any of these authors make note of the Disciples or Apostles. The only information of the life of Jesus comes from Christian believers. What are your opinions on why Jesus was not mentioned by any of these writers? K FOR HIM the CHRISTIANS that wrote the NT did so DECADES AFTER Jesus died. I ask about CONTEMPORARY writers, the ones LISTED HERE. You ask WHY they would write about him? Well, wasn't he meant to have been going around performing miracles?

Which is better Stoicism or Buddhism?
Over the last few years I've read alot of books on Stoicism Like seneca Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus and also their greek forunners like plato ect. I consider myself a Stoic and try to follow the philosophy as best i can but recently I read alot of buddhist books and went to see the Dalai lama when he visited the U.K last month and now i have doubts. The two are very similar in many ways but also very different. I like the faith I have now but there is so much Buddhist writing and teachings while Stoicism is almost non-existent by comparision. Also afew days ago I had a dream where I met a Buddha and I really changed my feeling towards Buddhism and has brought the whole question to a head. Anyway enough about me what do you think?
