Can a there be a free society aligned to the left?
For info: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101124092005AANPD3B Not far left, but reasonably and democratically left. It might interest you to know that The Soviet Union never became communist in the way that Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels described. People who support communism say that this is because these countries lacked democracy. People who do not support communism usually say that the example of the Soviet Union and other similar countries proves that communism is dangerous and doesn't work. According to Communist writers and thinkers, the goal of communism is for workers to take control of factories and business and to manage the economy democratically. After workers established a government in their interests they would slowly bring all of the tools of production under their control, until a classless and stateless society was created. Source: Simple English Wikipedia Does that make communism misunderstood? That's beside the point. The point is not related to communism but you can comment. How can a free society be created in the left? If it can't, how about a balance? That's because there is definitely no free society in the right. An unbiased and intelligent answer would be nice. @virgod I think you ignored the the fact that it wasn't how Marx and Engles intended. Every communist society since has adopted Stalin's version and not the one Marx and Engles had in mind. @Ello Guv First, I am not advocating communism. Second, the communism you're thinking of is NOT what Marx and Engles had in mind. It's Stalin's perverted version, which passed on to other countries. Governments need to study the original manifesto.

"The government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar," he wrote.?
"No! I won't pay debt with a currency that's not backed by gold and silver! No! I won't trust in God!" His internet postings also indicated an interest in hardline ideology, listing Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels's The Communist Manifesto and Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf among his favourite books. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12145117 The above quotes suggest that Jared Loughner was not influenced by any particular US political party - Does it? However Bill Clinton said this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12164122 All very confusing why the shootings actually took place - Why do you think they did - Just another unstable person goes haywire with a gun?
