Here is your Tuesday STORY on: SELF DEVELOPMENT: I'll start with this quote today: QUOTE: 'Stubbornness is also determination. It's simply a matter of shifting from 'won't power' to 'will power'.' (Peter McWilliams) If we gave two people the same problem, and at the end of the day one achieves a good result and one doesn't, you may be justified in thinking that one had more stamina than the other. As we don't have a tool to measure this, allow me to cast another view on the same situation:- Have you ever had a day off work to rest? Was the result of that day of rest, tiredness? Most people whilst resting, think! Thinking about aimless and useless things. Planning is different, but just thinking is tiresome. The two people mentioned above, one thought and one planned. The one who planned reserved enough energy to fulfil the task. The one who thought, tired himself out in thought; when the realisation came as to how to fulfil the task his stamina was exhausted by too much thought. If you rest you rest - if you rest and think you'll become tired. The moral of today's story and quote is based about making a decision in a calm state of mind and reserving energy for any trials and tribulation that may follow. If the man in this story panicked, he would have used up all his energy needlessly. GOING WITH THE FLOW A Taoist story tells of an old man who accidentally fell into the river rapids leading to a high and dangerous waterfall. Onlookers feared for his life. Miraculously, he came out alive and unharmed downstream at the bottom of the falls. People asked him how he managed to survive. "I accommodated myself to the water, not the water to me. Without thinking, I allowed myself to be shaped by it. Plunging into the swirl, I came out with the swirl. This is how I survived." (Some versions describe Confucius as witnessing this event. Also, in some versions, the old man explains how he has been jumping into the waterfall like this since he was a small boy. ) QUOTE: "The secret of all power is - save your force. If you want high pressure you must choke off the waste.' (Joseph Farrell).

The bliss of reading
