I'm 29, I'm no lyricist and these are simple rhymes but I had to get this off my chest. It's been 5 month since she left me and every now and then I think of her and get upset. Putting on a brave face though. All I've ever done is emcee over UK Garage. I'm no singer or lyricist but this is from the heart so I hope at least a few lines hit the spot? Any opinion appreciated, If you say it's shit, thats cool but it's literally my life and feeling put into a simple song, so don't be too harsh. We were together, for so many years, You leaving me, was my worst fear, Didn?t see the sorrow in your eyes, All I can do now is apologise? Took you for granted, I?m well aware, I acted like, I just didn?t care, I see now I didn?t do my share, but didn?t realise til? you weren?t there, My best friend, you made my day, If I?d have only changed my ways, You might be here, you might have stayed, But then a stranger came and took you away, I hope he knows just what he?s done, He stole my joy he took my fun, And I know what?s done is done But he took my love, my only one Now you give him your love so flippantly, Can?t forgive myself, it should be me, Does he ease your guilt for leaving me? You cry on his shoulder but who is he? And I hope he?s right for you Does all the things, I could?nt do, Says all the things, I didn?t say, Can?t forgive him, he took you away, Now he knows what I once knew See?s the things I saw you do, See?s you laughing, drinking wine, See?s the smile, that once was mine. Was this the plan, is this fate? Didn?t change my ways, now it?s too late, He took my world, Destroyed my pride, Snatched the twinkle from my eye, Now I?m sharing our house with someone else, Not a lover, she just pays the rent, Sleeps in our room, it makes me blue, This ain't our home and she?s not you, You?ve caused a pain so deep in me, But he blocks your view, you don?t see me, I?m still right here and here I remain, Where you left me, but not the same. And In my sleep you cross my mind, To see you again, is so unkind, I know it?s dreams it?s not a sign, Seeing you, for one last time, You look at me I see you stare, I Hold you close, kiss your hair, But it?s not you and this isn?t fair Wake up alone and you?re not there Your laughter, I used to share, Now that?s neither here nor there, I know now that life?s unfair, I?d still die for you, but you don?t care I cannot read that without almost bursting into tears, jesus christ. I'm at work as well! Stiff upper lip man. Come on.
