Famous Charles Dickens Quotes

A loving heart is the truest wisdom.

A merry Christmas to everybody! A happy New Year to all the world!

Whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do it well; whatever I have devoted myself to, I have devoted myself completely; in great aims and in small I have always thoroughly been in earnest.

I feel an earnest and humble desire, and shall till I die, to increase the stock of harmless cheerfulness.

Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!

I do come home at Christmas. We all do, or we all should. We all come home, or ought to come home, for a short holiday - the longer, the better - from the great boarding school where we are forever working at our arithmetical slates, to take, and give a rest.

I have always thought of Christmas as a good time; a kind, forgiving, generous, pleasant time; a time when men and women seem to open their hearts freely, and so I say, God bless Christmas!

It was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God Bless Us, Every One!

Time was with most of us, when Christmas Day, encircling all our limited world like a magic ring, left nothing out for us to miss or seek; bound together all our home enjoyments, affections, and hopes; grouped everything and everyone round the Christmas fire, and make the little picture shining in our bright young eyes, complete.

But I am sure that I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round...as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely.

It is a melancholy truth that even great men have their poor relations.

A day wasted on others is not wasted on one's self.

Law is an ass, an idiot.

An idea, like a ghost, must be spoken to a little before it will explain itself.

Electric communication will never be a substitute for the face of someone who with their soul encourages another person to be brave and true.

Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts.

I am sure that I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round...as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely.

I never could have done what I have done without the habits of punctuality, order, and diligence, without the determination to concentrate myself on one subject at a time.

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all year.

Everything You Want Appears -- Seemingly Out of Thin Air

There is a science that deals with manifesting desires. Many
people regard it as mystical or esoteric, but it's actually a
science like physics or algebra.

There are certain immutable laws that govern the process of
materializing wishes seemingly out of thin air, and once these
laws are complied with, anyone can make their dreams a reality
-- with absolute certainty.

5 May 2012 at 12:00am  Like many Hindi movies, ''Jannat 2'' doesn't like to keep you guessing about its characters' motivations. Should 17-year olds drink alcohol? Why or why not?
I just turned 17 and I've been tempted to try drink alcohol. I have high achievement motivation so I'm constantly stressed. A few of my friends are the same way, and they drink together to forget their problems. Should I drink? I'm a really sweet, kind, decent-looking, and smart girl. No one would believe me if I told them I'd tried alcohol.

Low IQ result - proof of inherent idiocy?
I've got myself agitated over an low IQ test result. I have taken many online IQ tests over the last year and I usually scored between 110 - 125 but on one or two tests recently I scored as low as 70. An IQ of 70 is considered in some parts of the world as a predicator of mental retardation, if I really am that unintelligent it hardly seems likely I will succeed at my Computer Science placement. I've always been sensitive about my intelligence, I think mostly because I didn't average high grades at secondary school due to lack of studying/motivation/revision. I still came out with 2 A's, 3 B's and 3 C's at GCSE but that's hardly a great result. Afterwards I took a BTEC in software engineering in which I scored A*,A*,A* (leading to my Comp Sci placement) but some may consider that irrelevant. I want a 'real' IQ test but I don't know any psychologists who could administer one.
