Today's Story on SELF DEVELOPMENT: Why do we choose to accept a first impression? It seems that we have grown up with accepting them and therefore it becomes a habitual act. This accepting a habitual act alone proves how many other aspects of our life can be clouded by judgements made from assumptions. Is accepting a first impression actually the first impression? More often than not it is the second impression. The first impression is a gut feeling that we discard incorrectly. I was out shopping with the family over the weekend and walked passed a tramp. The children stared intently at the tramp and after we had passed they gave me a barrage of questions. At eight and six years old my two girls were wondering was he a nice man or a naughty stranger, and why was he sitting on the floor? I explained the reasons for his need to sit and beg, but also continued with that we all would assume that he is a horrible person, because of his unshaven and unwashed appearance. Then I followed with, the way he appears on the outside doesn't mean that it is the way he is on the inside. He maybe able to laugh about his misgivings and have learnt some very valuable lessons in life, his soul maybe enriched with love and affection. We are better to reserve judgement than fill in the gaps and complete our first impression without all the facts. Yet, nevertheless as with our life, we seem to be making decisions with fewer facts than should be advised. To improve our self development we need introduce a goodness that prevents the proverbial first impression being accepted. Making assumptions means that you are taking risks, and taking risks causes heartache and problems. When you first see a tramp you show immediate empathy and sorrow; and only then do you put up your guard and make the recognizable 'first impression'. The more you assume the more you are making decisions without the full facts. This leads to inaccuracies in your life; you'll be continually going over ground you've already trodden. Spot the two first impressions accepted in this story. Watch also for the gathering of people who act as though they were sheep and follow everyone else's lead and make the same assumptions. HIS NAME IS JOHN His name is John. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kinda esoteric and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college. Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students, but are not sure how to go about it. One day John decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and so John starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now people are looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. John gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behaviour at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before!) By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick. About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward John. Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-grey hair, a three-piece suit, and a pocket watch. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves, "You can't blame him for what he's going to do. How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?" It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The people are thinking, "The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do." And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty he lowers himself and sits down next to John and sits with him so he won't be alone. Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains control he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget." Are there any Atheist Hip Hop record labels? What do you think about an Atheist owned music record label?
I've only been able to discover one Atheist Hip Hop record label owned by Terrence Ward as a Sole Proprietorship as of February 19th, 2010. I think he recently published a few articles and/or books online for free in PDF document at Internet Archive: 1). 16th Century Bantu Humanoid Aliens 2. Atheos Records: Business Plan 3). History of Atheism 4). Tupac Amaru Shakur: Theistic Realism In response to the critics who have questioned the point of an Atheist owned record label I suggest you read Terrence Ward book (i.e. Atheos Records: Business Plan) available for free in PDF document at Internet Archive which addresses all the critics and shows how you can market Atheist Hip Hop music with all the images of Atheism and at the same not being too overly aggressive with the message of Atheism. The author of this business plan actually made a 30 minute speech to the Government Student Association (i.e. which included people from different backgrounds and/or religious faith) at a local college here in the state of Florida about the idea of an Atheist record label and received positive feedback when it was explained to the audience the purpose of an Atheist owned record label. He also performed a short version of one of his songs entitled "Falling Star" in dedication to slain Atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair off of solo album "Revolt In 2100" and the pe To the previous reviewer who questioned the idea of an Atheist owned record label as a bad idea simply doesn't understand business and the varied money making opportunities that exist even for the most silliest of ideas. A lot of people thought that the White Supremacist pop group Prussian Blue wasn't going to be successful with their messages of racial hatred, anti-government, e.t.c. However, this White Supremacist group has managed to generate a moderate following with sales revenue $80,000 without the financial backing of a nationally recognized major distributor. That's not bad at all for an independent White Supremacist pop group. P.S. I think Terrence Ward has a great plan of action if he remains consistent with his business idea and doesn't get side tracked with other career obligations and/or receives the capital investment he is seeking.

What exactly can police do to find hackers?
I'm writing a script for a friends college work, the film he's doing is all about realism. So I need to know what powers the police actually have when it comes to tracking down people on the internet? You see police being able to reconstruct hard drives and things like that really easily on programs like CSI, but can it be done that easily? Can they really monitor what sites a person goes on and what they do? Can they recover what they've done on the internet even if they've done stuff like delete internet history? And if anyone knows the legal side of what they can and can't monitor that would be great too. With reference to IP addresses, how does it work when proxy sites are brought into the mix?

A stupid question with an audacious idea?
I'm writing to ask you all what you may think is a stupid question, and give negative comments. I don't have time to beat around the bush (because i'll be here all day), so i'll tell it straight. I need to get a good income for me (£2,500 a month) by the middle of 2013 (before i go university) And i'm only 17. Please don't laugh. It's for something really important to me, but my parents of course won't give me the money, so i'm going out into the world on my own. I know this sounds like a crazy idea, but there have been 7 year olds that have done this before, so why not me? Anyway, i'm already visiting art galleries to sell my art work, and i'm trying to think of other ways to find a good income, which is particularly hard given the financial state the world is in (and studying for my Science A-levels at the same time). My art teacher says he finds my style really interesting and unlike many other syles he's seen. It's very vibrant and impressionistic, and makes use of facets in a picture. So at last, my question: If i sell my art to the numerous galleries in London, will i have a realistic chance in finding that £2,500 monthly income that i really require for my desired goal? Sorry for being a bit of a dreamer. You'll probably crush my dreams with some realism, but it doesn't matter, because i will value your advice whatever it is. Even so, i'm sure you're still laughing at this question :) Thanks for your time P.s. I know if i want to play safe, i should just paint sunsets, because everyone buys sunset pictures. But do galleries buy them, at high prices? Thanks :) I'm going to study to become a dentist, so money won't be a problem for me in the future. I just REALLY need it in my years before and during university. The reason i can't say because no-one will understand, but it's nothing shady or illegal

Can you tell I'm dyslexic?
This is a my piece of writing. "I'm applying for the Acting course to enable me to gain personal experience, techniques and confidence to further my career in the performing arts. The performing arts is such an intriguing platform to work from, with the hint of the unknown, having the possibility to work on a global level, travelling and growing myself, learning more about different cultures and adapting that into different types of performances. Portraying a character and not being personally judged for the characters actions would be an unmatchable feeling, all under the umbrella of acting. Human behaviour fascinates me; this is partly why I've wanted to pursue an acting career, being able to understand a characters behaviour before physically taking on the role. I see myself as a raw creative substance but without a vehicle going anywhere. This course would boost my personal life regarding confidence and being away from major family distractions, but more importantly, the course would give me vital tools, showing me how to get my creativity out more and apply that to an industry where there are literally no limits. I understand a percentage of previous experience would be of an advantage, before taking such a niche and demanding subject as the performing arts. I have no acting experience, but combine this course and myself together, its an attractive potential. I believe its as important to have the right frame of mind to take on a creative career. I'm humble with showing people my creative side, as I'm scared of people not understanding my point of view, but if they do, its like uncovering a diamond. Not previously pursuing a performing arts career is purely due to not being confident with my background of qualifications, personal life and negative feedback from people when I have spoken to. After researching specific actors who inspire me, look at as a role model and finding out their backgrounds, I became 100% focused on aiming for a career I wanted. It made me realise that it doesn't matter where you're from or the amount of negative energy which is around you, nothing will stop me proving that I have as much potential or more than the next person. Having limited experience also doesn't mean I'm less passionate than somebody who has been actively performing from childhood; its only now after researching the industry that I believe I am able to pursue this bright, life changing career path which I believe suits me as a person. I'm a self taught musician and I have recently started song writing. In more of my free time I enjoy making solo music or interpretations of soundtracks. I used to play in a band and perform at concerts at school. I love a diverse mix of genres of films and music. I respect many different genres of acting; I have my own aims of where Id love to perform, but I am open to exploring other styles, likewise with music. I think music adds another level of realism and draws the viewer in more. I'm dyslexic and I have my own thoughts on how the performing arts is one of a very few industries which an individual like myself is able to succeed in. My theory: The area of my mind where a normal person would have normal academic abilities, mine is just empty space, like a clean piece of paper, giving my artistic talents more room to play and have a larger area for imagination, innovative inspiration. I don't see myself to have a disability; I see myself to have an advantage where a more abled academic person might never be able to be taught or given that imaginative state of mind. I try to stay in a state of ignorance to limitations of what is possible; it creates new and interesting inceptions, because it pushes the boundaries far and beyond of what people think is possible. The Acting course is more of a need than a want; I need to learn and develop myself in as many aspects of my life as possible. I believe this course will guide me immensely and support my career and life massively."
