Today's Story on SOLVING PROBLEMS: If you have a problem, what do you do and where do you go? Firstly we must be aware that being choked by a problem will only make you want to kick and scream. The resultant decision would be a forced one under duress. Ideally you would want to take time, care and attention over every decision. To do this with a good degree of success we must be within a calm state of mind. If we are confronted with a problem and a state of anguish and frustration arose we must first spot the condition and then resist it from affecting any decision we make. More often than not we forget to be grateful for the other things in life that we have. Today's story illustrates how an illness can suddenly make you see life clearly; and sadly for the lady who wrote this, too clear too late. IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER (written after discovery of terminal cancer) I would have talked less and listened more. I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded. I would have eaten the popcorn in the "GOOD" living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth. I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains. I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life. I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day. I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime. Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment realizing that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. When my kids kissed me impetuously, would never have said, "Later, now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's" ... more "I'm sorry's" ... but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute ... look at it and really see it ... live it .. and never give it back. (Erma Bombeck) QUOTE: 'You have to make a conscious choice every day to shed the old - whatever 'the old' means for you. (Sarah Ban Breathnach)

True relaxation is rare. I suppose this defines an elite athlete. Wise people often remind us that we are only competing against ourselves but I always scoff at the noble-sounding notion. You see, pretty much every time I have played a game of rugby ...

Why do I start feeling anxious when I begin with relaxation exercises?
I suffer from anxiety and can never really relax. I wanted to try some relaxation exercises. My therapist said that I should chose a time of the day when I feel most relaxed (doesn't have to be 100% but more relaxed then at other times) otherwise it will be diffcult to do it. So I tried that but as soon as I start the CD my anxiety kicks in. Which isn't helpful..any idea what to do about that?

In a professional massage, does the masseur?
touch the chest or thigh regions? I am just wondering why a female customer in particular would want a female (or male) masseur to touch her sensitive areas (it seems bizarre) - can you keep your bra and underwear on, or a man his shorts on? I understand that a massage is a means of relaxation and may be healthy, but if you are not allowed some underwear I can imagine the female customer getting well, wet, and a male customer getting excited, too.

POLL: What would you rather do; alcohol or weed(if it were legalised)?
Weed: no hangovers, deep thinking, less chance of being sick, feeling of relaxation and love + less violent. Alcohol: drunks pissing in the streets, fights, sickness, hangovers, poisoning. I think theres no question about it; weed wins for me. q: Alcohol is a drug, a very dangerous drug that is easily to overdoes on and is very addictive...weed is far less addictive, and does less(more temporary damage) to your brain and what do you mean 'line'? that's cocaine not weed.

Can I Follow The Ways Of Buddhism Whilst Being A Catholic?
Today, I completed my revision notes for an exam this coming week. Once I had finished I was stressed because of the amount I had done. I read an article online about meditation and how to do it, and I proceeded to do my first ever meditation. I played some of the "Relaxation Sounds" on youtube and about 5 minutes later, i was finished. I felt so good after I had done it and so calm. I then research the ways of Buddhism and the ideas I saw here (http://www.wikihow.com/Practice-Buddhism) looked a pretty good way to live. I am not thinking of leaving my family and becoming a monk in Tibet, but just following these rules. The problem is I am a Baptised Catholic (non practicing) and I am at a Catholic school. Is this an issue. Also can some people tell me how often to meditate and for how long. Any other tips could be useful. Just extra info, I am not in anyway shape or form connected to the catholic religion
