Solving The Problem

Today's Story on LOVE: The extent to which we GIVE to a person is the extent to which we feel them giving love to us. If we are not totally giving, we will not be open enough to receive what they are giving back to us. In this recognition is the very quality of receiving. We get to receive the very gift or feeling that we give. How often is one kiss enough? Imagine a five or six year old when you give them a loving kiss. It is only a moment later that they give you one back. Most adults are aware of the principle 'to give is to receive, ' but many will have not practiced it too often. To practice and receive the benefits will allow you to practice the principle more frequently. Whichever way that you choose to operate your life, there will be areas you have never tried and tested. Let me explain with a story. A story about understanding! If you are not willing to understand a new principle, belief or fundamental piece of knowledge, then you will never experience its delights... THE FISH AND THE TURTLE Once upon a time there was a fish. And just because it was a fish, it had lived all its life in the water and knew nothing whatever about anything else but water. And one day as it swam about in the lake where all its days had been spent, it happened to meet a turtle of its acquaintance who had just come back from a little excursion on the land. "Good day, Mr. Turtle!" said the fish. "I have not seen you for a long time. Where have you been?" "Oh", said the turtle, "I have just been for a trip on dry land." "On dry land!" exclaimed the fish. "What do you mean by on dry land? There is no dry land. I had never seen such a thing. Dry land is nothing." "Well, " said the turtle good-naturedly. "If you want to think so, of course you may; there is no one who can hinder you. But that's where I've been, all the same." "Oh, come, " said the fish. "Try to talk sense. Just tell me now what is this land of yours like? Is it all wet?" "No, it is not wet, " said the turtle. "Is it nice and fresh and cool?" asked the fish. "No, it is not nice and fresh and cool, " the turtle replied. "Is it clear so that light can come through it?" "No, it is not clear. Light cannot come through it." "Is it soft and yielding, so that I can move my fins about in it and push my nose through it?" "No, it is not soft and yielding. You could not swim in it." "Does it move or flow in streams?" "No, it neither moves nor flows in streams." "Does it ever rise up into waves then, with white foams in them?" asked the fish, impatient at this string of No's. "No!" replied the turtle, truthfully. "It never rises up into waves that I have seen." "There now, " exclaimed the fish triumphantly. "Didn't I tell you that this land of yours was just nothing? I have just asked, and you have answered me that it is neither wet nor cool, not clear nor soft and that it does not flow in streams nor rise up into waves. And if it isn't a single one of these things what else is it but nothing? Don't tell me." "Well, well", said the turtle, "If you are determined to think that dry land is nothing, I suppose you must just go on thinking so. But any one who knows what is water and what is land would say you were just a silly fish, for you think that anything you have never known is nothing just because you have never known it." And with that the turtle turned away and, leaving the fish behind in its little pond of water, set out on another excursion over the dry land that was nothing. Income Based JSA claim rejected - Is this decision correct?
Hi, I have been unemployed now for nearly 9 months, but I do really try hard to find work, and I've had 6 interviews so far from well over 100 applications. I was getting Contributions based JSA, but that only lasts 6 months, so I had to move onto Income Based JSA. This claim was taking a long time and I wasn't being paid, and when I went into the Jobcentre this week they said my claim had been closed as I wasn't eligible. They said it was because of my girlfriends student loan (she is a full time student) which takes the household income above the minimum allowed. To me this seems ridiculous, her loan is only about £3,500 per year and that's her money, plus it's a loan so needs to be paid back anyway. Also since we are not married, have no joint bank account etc, I don't see why her income affects me. What's stopping me from telling them we have broke up but still living together as friends? Also makes me think surely I could just have said we were friends anyway, just sharing the flat? Maybe I should have never said she was my partner. I just don't see why her income affects me, her student loan is for her, not me, it's not meant to look after 2 people. I am also receiving housing benefit from the council, which I guess they have taken into consideration too, but still our total household income isn't much. Even when I was getting JSA, I was losing money every month, and using my savings. Now things are even worse. I know I need a job and that would solve the problem, but I just feel like this is really unfair. I need to phone them to confirm the decision and the reasons, but can't do this until Monday. So I was hoping some people on here had experience or knowledge in this area and could see if this decision seems correct. Hope I have given enough info and I hope someone can help in some way. Thanks, Mark.

Internal Damp - Old 1873 Railway House - Suggestions to solve the problems?
Hi, I own a flat that was converted within a 1873 built railway house. Its converted in the top floor. In recent months there has been really bad damp causing mould growth. Temporarily the mould gets washed away, but tends to grow back within 3-4 days on average. On the exterior of the building, there is what is considered to be a stucco render, the main building consists of solid brick walls. The bricks are elongated rather than build like modern buildings, meaning there is just solid brick between the inner and outer coatings. The stucco looks to have been floated onto the wall and is approximately 1 inch deep, and then has a sprayed texture top coat that has score lines to resemble large stone blocks. I don?t know if any repair work has been done in the past as I have only owned it for around 7 years now. There are also black roofing stones around the various apexes, around the roof. My initial thought was to get these re-bedded and re-pointed since these quite possibly may have never been maintained since the building was built. There is a gutter down the back of the building where the damp is at its worst, so I was going to get these cleaned and gutter covers installed. That?s the only bit of guttering as the rest of the building utilises gullies and hoppers/drainpipes to return water to the ground. I started researching stucco though, and it seems this could also be the problem, although it looks reasonably sound although dirty. There is the odd crack, but nowhere near the damp area, and there are a few places where the top surface has blown, but the 1? under layer is still intact. I don?t really have a lot of cash to getting this completely re rendered, and im hoping that somebody knows of some reasonably inexpensive ways that I can repair or at least prolong the life of the stucco for a few years until my finances improve. I have read that in America they use Elastomeric coatings and paints, on stucco covered structures. As this is said to be a good waterproofing method, would this work for my problem? If so can anyone recommend any brands, and give me some info on where to buy please? Any other inexpensive methods that can be suggested would be greatly appreciated, and preferably if it?s something that I can do my self as I consider my self to be a moderate diy-er. If I sort the roof stones, check the gutters and down pipes, re seal the stucco what are the chances of this curing the problem for a few years at leased? I must mention that the internal sides of the walls have some kind of solid render applied under the plaster. It resembles concrete, and the plaster on the walls is around an inch thick also. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Darren

My email is spamming my entire contacts list - I'm bewildered as to what I should do?
Couple of months ago I got an email from someone in my contact list. Even though it contained a link I stupidly clicked on it, believing it was from them - it was spam. Soon after another contact's email started sending me spam. I was unable to contact either of the people concerned. Since then I've been deluged with spam and then last week my own mail started to send spam to myself(!) and now it appears to be working it's way through my contact list. I've tried researching what to do online and the advice is conflicting. Can anyone advise me what to do - if I shut down the email add (it's my main ip provided email so they would have to change it) will that solve the problem? I feel mortified by it :( Aehhhh - done all that - full scan plus full malwarebytes and changed all passwords. Didn't make any difference - infact since then it seems to have gone into overdrive.
