Today's Story on THE LOVE OF WISDOM: I search through every conceivable source to bring these stories on a daily basis. Often these moments do not necessarily come from the highest source, spiritual, godliness or most academic in their field of study, but they maybe from children or a close colleague. Today's story is about arguing within the family and one way in which to prevent it from escalating. WHO IS TO BLAME? I was listening with close attention to a lady colleague of mine who was trying to resolve a marital problem. Separation had occurred and bitterness had set in. Both partners were living separately, but whenever a solution to a problem was required, both partners needed to talk and try to resolve the issue. What ensued was an argument, where both parties disagreed. Tempers flared and the encounter was discontinued. Matrimonial problems are not easy, and as I listened attentively to every too and fro of the most recent communicative disasters, there was one comment that was made that I shall remember for the rest of my life. She told me she had gone for matrimonial help, but before she took the first hurdle she was advised to try an open discussion once more with her ex-husband, in her own home. However the mediator, in this case a lady solicitor (lawyers/attorney), suggested she needed to keep one thing clear in her mind, 'DO NOT LAY BLAME, ' otherwise an argument will result. Having studied that for a moment, I thought wow! Isn't that just so true. Laying blame infuriates your opposite partner and a verbal slanging match begins. As much as you are tempted with the impulse to lay blame, you need to resist. I tend to govern my life with, authoritative comments, short quotes, short stories, parables and philosophy from all corners of the globe. So it would seem appropriate to add, 'Don't Lay Blame' to my own personal philosophy. Of course we know that this statement is true, but if we are prompted with a few words of wisdom the whole subject floods into mind and our actions are justly affected. 'Don't Lay Blame, ' wow! (Phil Booker) I have recently watched a film based upon a book, the film was called 'Pollyana.' It is a beautiful story of a young English girl who lost both her parents when she was only about twelve years old and had to stay with her auntie. Her auntie wasn't the most enjoyable family member to be alone with. She could hardly raise a smile. But Pollyana remembered fondly her father, who always was an optimist. Whatever was to happen, especially negatives, he would teach Pollyana to see the positive and smile even during the darkest moments. A superb plot that eventually had Pollyana responsible for changing the image of this sleepy village into a vibrant, enthusiastic and giving community. QUOTE: "An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity. (Sir Winston Churchill, former British Prime Minister).

Atheists hear me out please?
I don't have consciousness, I don't have love, I don't have philosophy, I have no theology, I have no quality of being through self enquiry and selfish acts, in fact I don't really exist, i'm an ancestor of one of those Australopithecan none entities from 3.5 million years ago. Wahey i'm an Intelligent bipedal ape with a pocket full of gold, a meta-ethical relativist controlling my dominions. What am I? Answer = A lost miasmic mind cast adrift upon the tidal wave of darkness looking for the lighthouse! A meta-ethical relativist which might say "It's moral to me, Justifications for moral judgements are not universal". Dominions ~ Sovereignty; control: "man's attempt to establish dominion over nature". = I am God! NOT! Meant to say selfless acts.

Atheists, Christians: How can some christians accept Evolution?
Ok, for the christians that accept the Theory of Evolution, tell me: If Adam and Eve never existed, then there isn't an original sin. That means people didn't begin to age and die, because of the corruption of that first sin. Then mankind doesn't "sin" because our mortal bodies are tainted with the sin of our ancestors. Christians could say that we "choose to sin", but we wouldn't choose to "sin" if our bodies weren't tainted by that original sin, right? According to christian theology we have a "natural predisposition" to sin because we because we inherited the corruption of our ancestors (so it must be in our DNA or something) Some christians say: "You only have to repent and accept Jesus in your heart, to be saved" BUT Isn't the sacrifice of Christ irrelevant if the conditions for the first sin didn't actually happen, as I write it above? So, tell me how can you accept evolution? I think at least the fundies are truly sincere, because they will do anything to believe in everything the Bible says, without question, so they truly are "like children" and they surely will be the first to reach Heaven... What do you think?

Do Catholics and Protestants disagree on the doctrine of the immortal soul?
Roman Catholic Encyclopedia of Theology, under "Soul" - P 1617 Speaks of Justinus, Tatian and Irenaeus here; "Ancient Christian thinkers... put forward the thesis that the soul was mortal, since otherwise it could not be a created thing..." "Christian theology was drawn into this process. The soul, now considered as subjectivity - which is why its immortality is denied on the Protestant side - remained the human potency for the absolute." The basic affirmation is that the spirit of man is created by God and forms the soul of his body, in an essential relation to it... It was not till Vatican II that the magisterium broke out of the body-soul schema and came into line with the approach of the modern era. The key-word is now person and not soul. Man is 'one' in body and soul. In his 'interiority' he transcends the totality of things." I understand that the last two sentences give the current Roman Catholic view. But is the immortality of the human soul denied by Protestantism? Or does it believe that the human soul is immortal but for reasons that are different to those of the Catholic Church? Since Jehovah's Witnesses say they are neither Catholic nor Protestant, they might wish to refrain from giving their views of the soul and what happens to people after they die. I'm trying to understand if there are any theological differences between Catholics and Protestants. Of course, I might be entirely mistaken in thinking that Protestants disagree with Catholics on the immortality of the human soul - and if I am, I should like to be put right! Category suggested by Yahoo - Entertainment and Music: R & B and Soul Jehovah's Witnesses might wish to refrain from sharing their views on the soul because this question is NOT QUESTIONING THE DOCTRINE OF THE IMMORTAL SOUL. This question is asking whether Catholics and Protestants agree or disagree on the theological points of the doctrine of the immortal soul. If I wanted to get the opinions of Jehovah's Witnesses about what the Bible teaches about the soul, I would have phrased my question accordingly. I know what Jehovah's Witnesses think about the soul, thank you. That is not what this question is asking. Yes, I'm hoping to get insights from Catholics and Protestants alike. The U.K. Baptist position is that although the soul is created, it continues to exist after the body dies, and I was under the impression this is the standard Protestant view. But is the breath of life the same thing as the human soul? I agree that God alone has immortality because He was never created and will never die. He is from everlasting to everlasting - He is eternal. Yet God "set eternity in the hearts of men" (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This is all very interesting, and I appreciate everyone's input. Hopefully someone out there has a clear understanding of any doctrinal differences that might exist between Catholics and Protestants.
