Today's Story on CHILDREN: I will always advocate listening to your children as they will teach you valuable lessons. However today, we'll explore the responsibility of the adult towards children. Children do of course benefit from education and the adult is responsible in overseeing that they get the right information. Today's society and I mean television, brainwashes children into believing that this is how life is. My eldest daughter (7 years old) asked for something to eat before bedtime and I responded with, 'How about some bread and jam?' 'What's jam?' asked my daughter. What a strange feeling came over me. I showed her the jar and she turned her nose up and said, 'No thanks!' Chips and Chicken Nuggets, Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, Biscuits (Cookies), Cereal, Pasta, Pizza, Tacos, Burger and Chips etc. etc. They do get plenty of fruit, but the point is, if it is not on television they are not going to know about it! (Apart of course from the failing of the parent which I didn't want to mention). So my lady played a game. To teach through play is good. We blindfolded my daughter and asked her to taste six different flavours. Jam, Marmalade, Mayonnaise, Brown Sauce, Honey and Marmite; all of which upon viewing them she refused to indulge in. As we played the game we introduced her to five new tastes that she enjoyed, and one she flatly refused. The blindfold did the trick. In a frustrating moment of, 'What's jam?' I would have never have thought, let's play a game. But it was the game that saved the day. Now of course she wants to play the same game with different tastes each day. Today's story is another gem that you may well want to use... BAKING A CAKE A very ill little boy was telling his Grandma how "everything" was going wrong ...school was too hard, family problems other than his illness, his severe pain, just all the hardships he was going through. Meanwhile, Grandma was baking a cake. She asked the child if he would like a snack, which of course he does. "Here. Have some cooking oil." "Yuck, " said the boy. "How about a couple of raw eggs?" "Gross, Grandma." "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Grandma, those are all yucky!" To which the Grandma replied: "Yes, Sweetheart, those things seem bad all by themselves. But, when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times, but, God knows that, when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually the yucky stuff will make of our lives something wonderful! "Just like Baking a Cake.' (Unknown Author). QUOTE: "Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.' (Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr).

the areas with the most asians and blacks? in london, leeds, bradford, birmingham, leicester, coventry, to name a few. the most crimefree areas have few or no ethnics living in them and are the most clean and beautiful i do not believe this is a coincidence but most of them think they can move in here take our jobs and benefits and try to make the place feel like the "home" they got away from. if u put a pig in a stable it doesnt become a horse. i wonder if the yahoo police are going to silence me for telling the truth. my "source" is my very own eyes.. i've lived all over the uk

Is this a good poem about beauty?
This is my poem: Perfection is the dream - of every born child known. The pallor and the rosy mouth - in which we want to grow. The pages in the magazines - where lies the hidden truth. The fabricated future - but where is forlorn proof? Every eyes does perceive - a great stun walking by. The youngest of a generation - always wondering why? Your tears for outer beauty - dry up on earth and rock. But know that someone out of life - stares by you in further shock. Your eyes that shine as marble does - as blue and ocean wide. Is one thing never fictitious - in every other human life. :) I'm terrible at writing poems so sorry if it makes NO sense! Please write: Sorry - I accidently put an S on the EYE bit. Plus the bit where I put "great stun" doesn't make sense! The poem is about how we feel about our images everyday, when we see things on TV and in magazines and stuff. It says that when you stare at people you think are beautiful in the street - you should know that someone you havent probily even met is staring at you the same way. :) yeh bye x

What do you think of this story?
It was like hell on earth... Running through streets littered with the smashed remains of the walking undead, yet more of the skeletons shambling towards knight and civilian alike, Alexander could barely believe that something like this would happen. Piscis had shown up after going missing for over a day, bruised and wounded, barely a handful of hours before Sir Leon and his patrol had arrived back at the citadel as if the demons were at his heels. The news he'd brought had been dire, and forced him to step into command in order to defend the castle from the impending seige. to make matters worse Gavler had discovered the cause. An enchantment of darkest malice, aimed at making Palvin go mad, aimed at leading the castle to fall into ashes and ruin. It was hard to take... Hard enough that Alexander had to wonder if or not he would lose his mind as his father had under the influence of the spell planted in his chambers. The king had regained his senses, although he was still in no real condition to fight. The truth that his illness was due to magic had been a relief, but at the same time he was still too weak to lead the battle. King Cenrid's forces would not wait for the king to recover his bearings, and so it fell to his son to ensure the defence of the castle. Swinging his sword and smashing yet another skeleton to shards, Piscis entered the castle courtyard and glanced back to the battle in the city outside. Cenrid's forces were successfully being held at bay, but the undead that had risen within the walls had been a blow to the defenders' will. He needed to get onto the battlements, to better coordinate his men and rout the skeletal minions before they ripped the backlines apart. Piscis headed for the nearest stairway, his mind on what he had to do... totally unaware of the threat that had entered the courtyard behind him until the voice of the woman split the air like an angry hiss. He stopped near the foot of the stairway, turning to face the woman, eyes widening when he saw her face. Her spell slammed into the wall above him, ripping stones from the structure to topple down on him. Moments later he was pinned beneath the fallen masonry, the blond-haired sorceress smirking at him. Biting back a gasp of pain, he growled at her under his breath. "Avalin..." She tilted her head, amused. "Oh how the mighty do fall in the face of magic, not even the valiant Prince Alexander is a match for it. This is the end, and there is naught you can do to stop it." With a wave of a hand her next spell flew at him, the words lost amid snap of exploding air as it hit the stone mere inches from the prince. Alexander blacked out for a moment, limp where he lay, his mind just registering the horrified shout that reached his ears. "Alexander!" It was Piscis... That damned idiot was charging across the courtyard like the suicidal moron he was. Didn't he have common sense? He should be running away from this, not towards it. But then, when did Piscis ever have any sense? He felt Piscis'hand touch his head to check he was alive, but he was still too dazed to move. His master apparently unconscious but alive, the servant then stood up and strode a short way towards the sorceress. What on earth did he think he could do? Sure, he appreciated and admired Piscis for his loyalty and determination, but he was walking to his death! The next moment left Alexander in confusion, blearily opening his eyes in time to see the surprised expression on Avalin's face... Wait, surprised? She spoke, as if confused as to why Piscis should be standing before her. "You escaped? ...How could a mere serving boy have broken free of my chains? The creatures of the forest should have slain you." Piscis, that smug and cocky Piscis, let out a short laugh before his sarcastic reply. "Oh wouldn't you like to know?" His voice then hardened, his posture tense and ready to act. "Leave now, Alavin... I'm warning you, I will not let you destroy the castle and I will not allow you to hurt Alexander. Leave now and I will let you live."
